Today on 11. July 2012, the European Co-funded Roadmap Project "ActionPlanT" coordinated by the NESSI member SAP successfully concluded its final review and published the last version of its ActionPlant Roadmap for "ICT for Manufacturing". The ActioPlanT roadmap was presented and discussed on the occasion of the two information days for the FOF PPP coming work programme 2013 and the coming Horizon 2020 research Framework Programme .

Beside manufacturing experts on ICT, many NESSI members have contributed to the fact finding for and discussion about the research challenges in the ICT area for manufacturing. The ActionPlanT roadmap was set out to be instrumental for EU and national research programme definition in the coming years. The ActionPlanT project was successful in its aim to provide "valuable input" to policy makers in the European Commission, Parliament and Member State Governments.

As part of ActionPlanTs outreach activities, the Roadmap was handed over to Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes during a CEBIT Conference. Meetings with parliamentarian offices were conducted to prepare for discussions during second part of 2012 when content discussions of the framework programme will take place. The ActionPlanT roadmap will also be integrated into the EFFRA FOF roadmap covering the important part of ICT as a key enabling technology.
